The Economic Improvement Council, headquartered in Edenton, has received a $2 million grant from the North Carolina Healthy Homes Initiative to rehabilitate homes in the area.
The grant is an opportunity for the EIC to assist low-income persons and families whose older homes have fallen into disrepair.
